May Newsletter UPDATED
Friday 8 May Therapy Dog Night at the Sterling House in Claremore 6:30 pm 1605 N Highway 88
We will be splitting into two groups; one to Alzheimer’s unit and the others to the Assisted living side….
We will need at least 10 folks please sign up before you leave class, and we will eat at the Hammet House after we are done.
Please remember that when we are at Therapy Dog night or doing demonstrtions please dress “Professionally” you are representing “us”. As we get into summer time, please remember no shorts are to be worn for Therapy Dog visits anywhere and NO FLIP FLOPS.
We will be ordering polo shirts with the Glad Wags logo on them – they are 25 dollars in a variety of colors. I will be placing an order Wednesday the 6th of May. We will also be ordering Marj the Dog Trainer shirts too.
Saturday 9 May we will have no Saturday classes, as I am one of the sponsors for “Bark for Life” from 2 to 5 at ORU campus. I will have a booth along with the walk you can make a donation to our Glad Wags Team, and in past years we have been one of the winning fund raisers. This event supports The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.
This is a good event to take your dog to, it is usually small and well run. Remember your dog is “working” not there to meet other dogs. If it’s hot remember to come with plenty of water and a towel to wet your dog down with if it gets too hot.
I will have a canopy that you can rest under and get some shade, but please bring your own chair!!
I am working on having an essential oil class on the 24 May this is tentative or the first Sunday in June which is the 7th at 2 pm at the training center. Will let you know when I know.
And I almost forgot! Wednesday 13 May at 3 pm we will have the Therapy Dogs doing a “morale boosting” visit to the DHS senior division, will last about an hour. Address is 823 Detroit 4th floor. Please let me know you can come!
